The skid pan or concrete hose placement disc is used to reduce friction on the hose from the ground. Hoses used for pumping often surge backwards and forwards on the ground creating a bare patch on the hose. Once the wires are exposed they can corrode very quickly or if the hose isn’t turned or replaced, the wires will break leading to an increase risk of bursts. By using the skid pan, you’re lifting the hose from the ground, eliminating the abrasion, extending the life of the hose and therefore saving cost on replacement hoses.
