The Freud 1/2″ Mortising Bit (16-100) is expertly designed for ultra-clean, splinter-free mortises, grooves, and dadoes in a wide range of materials. Its 1/2″ cutting diameter and precision-ground dual cutters are perfect for mortising hinges and hardware slots in plywood, veneer, solid wood, and composites. Featuring a down shear design that pushes wood fibers downward, this bit reduces tear-out for crisp edges. Deep center gullets enhance chip removal and cutting efficiency, while Freud’s Perma-SHIELD® coating minimizes heat and resin buildup. Compatible with CNC, hand-held, and table-mounted routers.
